The Bellmarine OutboardMaster is based on the same type of motor as the shaft-drive inboard range, coupled with a Yanmar SD25 saildrive leg with a 2:1 reduction, plus a custom hub and connection arm for use with hydraulic steering system. The OutboardMaster is specifically designed for applications where robustness and maneuverability are crucial.
Ranging from 5 to 20kW this liquid-cooled electric saildrive range is very powerful and comes with Yanmar sail drive leg, custom hub and and integrated 12V converter. The OutboardMaster is an enclosed motor that is water resistant and ideally suited for medium to large size displacement boats.
All motors are Permanent Magnet type, AC, high efficiency, saltwater resistant and rated at IP65. The air-cooled version is suitable for light & medium duty applications, whilst the liquid cooled version is recommended for heavy duty & commercial applications.
Bellmarine motors have a nominal (continuous) and intermittent (1 minute duration) rating and can be supplied with an optional regeneration module for re-charging whilst under sail.
