TRANSFLUID HYBRID SYSTEM

 DISCOVER A NEW HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM

The hybrid system enables you to sail at normal cruising speed with a traditional Diesel engine as well as allowing you to sail in protected marine areas with zero emissions and in ports or marinas where silence and reduced pollution are well appreciated. During inshore navigation the silent propulsion enhances enjoyment of the landscape and, when anchored, there is no need to keep the engine running to use on-board facilities, thus avoiding disturbing the calm of the surroundings.

Designed to fit in between an engine with SAE flywheel and transmission with a SAE input, the HM module provides a seamless solution easier to apply and simpler to operate than any other application. Additionally, the electric machine (the motor generator) may be mounted in different positions to provide best fit within the engine compartment. All that is required for installation is a short additional distance between engine and transmission, making it an ideal solution for both retrofit and new designs. For any kind of application for boats and vessels, as main or auxiliary propulsion.

How it works

The hybrid system works in three modes:

  • electric propulsion to sail at ZERO emissions and absolute silence
  • engine propulsion using the electric machine as generator to recharge the batteries
  • “booster” function combining both the electric and the combustion motors in acceleration to provide extra toque in the driveline

Transfluid’s battery is based on lithium iron phosphate cells (LiFePO4). This battery gives great usage flexibility and reduces the total ownership costs, thanks to its 3000 cycles lifespan. The absence of emissions and the extended operating temperature range make Transfluid’s battery perfectly suited for every workplace.
